A journey to a dream!
Chapter 1. Getting there
Having a bad experience before I was afraid that something could happen with my flights because it was a complicated flight with a 12 hours transfer in Frankfurt, Germany. Hopefully I've got to Germany without any problems and had enough time to explore the whole airport and watch couple of movies on my laptop. One of them was "Vicky, Christina, Barcelona", which is a great movie by the way :) So I've boarded the plane to San Jose and the plane was about to take off when they realized that our plane is broken and its dangerous to fly on it because of air supply system did not functioned at all. Let me mention the company name Condor, in case you decide to travel with them :) So they took the plane to the repair spot and after not getting success in attempt of fixing the problem they took everybody off the plane and gracefully offered the hotel place for everybody! That sound like a fun for me, BUT since I'm Russian and I need to have a Schengen visa to enter Germany I could only stay in the international area at the airport and could not leave the airport. That made me completely upset because of that unfair behavior from Germany customs. And I felt like I'm Tom Hanks in that Terminal movie, where he could not left JFK airport... I tryed my best explaining the polizie officer that I am completely tired after spending 15 hours in Frankfurt area and thats not my fault that the plane is broken and in that situation I could not apply for the visa ahead by predicting the accident. That did not work. BUT thanks god, there are good people in the world! There was a girl who was sitting next to me in the plane, she is from Germany, she was right next to me when I had this conversation with customs. She help me out, by knowing German and having good complication skills she made them make me a Schengen visa in 30 minutes!!! Alright! I'm going to Germany! The hotel was 2 hours drive away from the airport - so that was great opportunity to see a little bit from the window of a bus! We went to Lahnstein through Koblenz, which is a very nice town. I saw Rhein and Lahn rivers since Hotel had a great location on the hill! I spend a night there and next day was a flight which finally brought us to COSTA RICA.
Chapter 2.
First impression
Oh, I love first impressions! Thats are the moments I will remember for a long time. That was a nice scaring feeling as similar to one I had before coming to US. I was in a new country, nobody was meeting me at the airport, I did not know the language and it was already midnight! But everything was okay I just took the taxi and went to the Hotel where Daniel was staying and waiting for me (we were behind schedule because of the flight delay). I was happy that finally Ive got to the destination and its a nice hot weather here instead of those -20C in Moscow.
I was pleasantly surprised by seeing the nature in a daylight! That was gorgeous. And more time I've spend in the country I was more surprised how beautiful is the nature here. And the best place I've ever seen in my life with the most amazing view is the place where we've finally get and where we'll spend time staying here :) That's soooo cool!!! And I was extremely happy about this!
Settling up
I skip some interesting parts, but I think writing the whole story will take a while a could be probably boring to read. So I will just get list of those situations in its time sequence:
Staying in a traffic for 4 hours instead of 30 minutes drive in San Jose
Renting a car
Searching for a car to buy
Accidentally meeting a girl (who is actually very pretty), she was on the same flight and she is from Norway at the hostel in San Jose
Looking for more cars
Driving across the mountain in the rainy clouds
Going to our place and starting loving it
Having problems with Internet and looking for alternative places and being upset
Going back to San Jose and buying the car
Staying a night with a family who sold us a car in San Jose
Spending all the day repairing the car
Trying to find a solution for the Internet
Going back to our place
Finally settling up at our place and feeling calm
Actually today is the 8th day for me in Costa Rica and the first day I've finally got the chance to go into the ocean :)
Places I wrote this story: Garage when they was repairing our car, paradise (code name for the place I'm staying at!)
